The problem is that for every person who actually has a negative "lived experience" there are 20 people just parroting the sensationalized "OMG crime!" nonsense a friend of a friend of a friend posted on Facebook.

If I had a nickel for every online interaction I've had that went like this:

"DC is a crime infested hellhole!"

"Oh, did something happen to you?"

"Hell no, I haven't been into DC in years, it's a crime infested hellhole!"

I'd be a millionaire.

No, reality is the appointed arbiter of what's a valid and invalid opinion.  It may be your opinion that the sky is green, but opinions can be wrong.  If your opinion on DC is not based in objective reality, your opinion is invalid.  [/quote]
