Capitalism says it’s your problem if you can’t find life-saving formula for your child or sick adult.
In a way that very true. Capitalism is silent on a lot of things. It doesn't provide a framework for family relationships, for example, or suicide prevention. Note that socialism also doesn't provide a solution for this. There is nothing in socialism that says the collective has to exhaust every bit of resource to fulfill every last need by an individual.
I'm the PP. I think you can have a healthy capitalist economy with some safeguards built in to protect people--without being a "socialist" country. For example, most governments in advanced societies negotiate with drug manufacturers on drug prices to ensure that their citizens can afford medication. Take insulin as an example. We pay more--WAY more--than any other people in the world for insulin. Other countries with a capitalist economy pay far less. Why can't we have both--capitalism and a government that ensures we have access to affordable medication, especially for common chronic diseases like diabetes? https://pharmanewsintel.com/news/insulin-prices-8x-higher-in-the-us-compared-to-similar-nations https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/cost-of-insulin-by-country
