[quote=Anonymous]I was whacked in the head a couple of times years ago. In college I had a part time job in a group home for adults with developmental disabilities. I took a resident shopping and when I loaded her into the van (wheelchair lift) I whacked my head hard on the side door frame. Turned out it was jagged and I also cut my scalp. I feel woozy plus could feel blood trickling down the back of my neck as I drove her home, then went to the ER for stitches. My neck and shoulders ached for a couple of days because of the blow and I still felt kind of off but no ongoing problems. Another time I slipped on ice and landed right on the back of my head, hard. Then I was working part time in a nursing home. They had me sit for awhile before I started work, again felt some aches and stiffness but had no problems (I think the back of the head is probably better protected--I felt backwards onto concrete). Third time I was sleeping when a heavy lamp on our headboard felt and clocked me in the head, I had apparently tangled my hand in the cord somehow. Sore scalp. stick neck, etc, felt just kinda dazed for a day, but was fine. IN all these cases I think it was not so much the blow that caused me to feel dazed as just sort of the shock of the event.
