Our school sent us home with a home test and an instruction sheet on how to take the test proctored. Which was incredibly simple. I’m sure you can use any home test using this process.
How did your school instruct to take the test proctored?
NP. We didn't use the test that DD brought home from school in January. Instead, I picked up a specially labeled Binax from the school, downloaded an app, did a proctored test, and sent the results to the school. It was remarkably easy, and I appreciated the fact that I didn't have to drive to any test site, or get a pediatrician appointment just to confirm a negative.
That is great to hear. Was your kid a close contact, or did they have symptoms? Asking b/c we had to go get a doctors note earlier this week even though we tested negative for COVID with congestion.
These doctors notes requirements have been swamping pediatric offices. Really wish schools would stop this practice. It just makes it harder for truly sick kids needing medical care to get appointments.
Agreed- And we’ve been four times in the past year, where if doctors note wasn’t needed, we would have never gone to the doctor for these symptoms. We would have managed them at home. None of these incidents ended up being Covid. It makes me understand why people aren’t testing at all and sending their kids to school with runny nose/sore throat because of the hassle. It’s wrong, but I understand it.
