Budget is 550-650K.
We're in Travilah and pretty happy with the school. I'm not so thrilled with what I have heard about Wootten because I have very smart kids but not super academic competitive kids. Some people love Wootten. I would prefer WJ or even Quince Orchard (which doesn't have high test scores like the Ws but seems calmer and more well balanced). I would not want to be in the Churchill distract. It seems like there are too many social and behavior issues with kids who have too much money and no restraint. We have a bunch of friends who have kids at Wayside and I have never heard anything negative about it. I hear mixed reviews of Stone Mill, great acceleration and more focus on science but so many parents comment on how obsessed the school is with test prep. I've also heard that it is very rigid. I haven't found this at Travilah. For your budget, you can get a nice house in the Stonemill district. It is a little closer in than the Travilah district but denser so there are more affordable houses. Your zip could be NP or Rockville depending on the street. In the Travilah area, the houses are more $700+ but you can find some houses in your budget off Saddleview. I love the neighborhoods around Wayside but the houses are more expensive and I think it would be hard to find anything below 800K.
