Very good area! I would check out Westleigh in North Potomac as well, which is right across from the Stone Mill elementary school neighborhood. It is a different elementary school but the junior high is Robert Frost and high school is Wootton. Wide range of prices as well $500K - 800K. Very family friendly and safe, plus they have an AWESOME rec club with a swim team and great tennis courts. I rarely see houses for sale in the neighborhood though but check every now and then. Good luck with your search!

I agree with the stonemill neighborhood. great elementary school and a wide range of prices in houses.

I agree with the three previous posters. These are probably the best clusters in the county. You cannot go wrong with either S/C/W or F/F/W.

Budget is 550-650K.

We're in Travilah and pretty happy with the school. I'm not so thrilled with what I have heard about Wootten because I have very smart kids but not super academic competitive kids. Some people love Wootten. I would prefer WJ or even Quince Orchard (which doesn't have high test scores like the Ws but seems calmer and more well balanced). I would not want to be in the Churchill distract. It seems like there are too many social and behavior issues with kids who have too much money and no restraint. We have a bunch of friends who have kids at Wayside and I have never heard anything negative about it. I hear mixed reviews of Stone Mill, great acceleration and more focus on science but so many parents comment on how obsessed the school is with test prep. I've also heard that it is very rigid. I haven't found this at Travilah.

For your budget, you can get a nice house in the Stonemill district. It is a little closer in than the Travilah district but denser so there are more affordable houses. Your zip could be NP or Rockville depending on the street. In the Travilah area, the houses are more $700+ but you can find some houses in your budget off Saddleview. I love the neighborhoods around Wayside but the houses are more expensive and I think it would be hard to find anything below 800K.

We are in this school district and are very happy with the schools - all 3 (Fallsmead/Frost/Wootton). As the PP states, the houses are affordable and the schools are good.

Another CGES parent wanting to know what 8:24 is talking about with regards to safety concerns and dogs at school. I am there every week and have never heard of anyone speak of a dog, see a dog, etc. I look at the website at least once a week and have never seen a picture of a dog, either.

??? My kids go there. I am there regularly. I have never seen a dog at the school (or on the website). I have never heard the principal speak of a dog. Are we both talking about College Gardens in Rockville?

It is not the test score that I have a problem with at CG. Safety is not exactly the top priority there. The principal is a dog fanatic, just look at the pics on the website, kids and dogs at school. Does your DC have any allergies?

I don't like the principal there.
