That’s assuming you have enough money to afford the higher down payment for a property that already has an ADU. ADUs should be allowed. They provide a small number of more affordable housing units. They also make ownership of an existing home more expensive, and to offset those costs you need to be a part-time landlord in a hostile regulatory environment. I don’t see why people make such a big deal over them on either side of the ADU debate. [/quote]
