I stay under 75ish because I do feel like there's usually a cop somewhere on 200 and someone pulled over (I mean, that and I don't really want to die). I live in an area with a lot of speed cameras on a 35mph road and get so many people going 30. It's makes me want to scream. So I'm not worried about people "crawling along" at 71- I'm worried about them going 50 on this big wide empty road. I'm also worried that I'll try to pass one of these slowpokes and speed up at just the wrong moment to set off the camera, when a cop wouldn't bat an eye at speeding up just to pass.
Why would you scream about someone going 30 when the max is 35?
Absolutely... unless ist inclement weather or heavy traffic. all the ICC folks or any toll site with electronic tolls, need to do is just measure the distance between toll locations. when a car goes through th plaza it gets a time/date stamp. when it goes throgh the net one, another time date stamp. easy enough to calculate speed based on time/distance. send them a speeding ticket with the bill for the toll.
Govts have always avoided this because it is a terrible idea. People will get rid of EZ pass or avoid the road altogether to avoid big brother watching. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. This idea would just end causing more traffic and waste all of the money the state poured into the ICC be dude many people will stop using it.
I never said it was a GOOD idea. I just said they could... everyone is already being tracked. credit cards, they know where you go, what you buy and where you spend your money, and It pretty much real time, maybe an hour delay. Cell phones. they know. Most vehicles now have some sort of GPS and/or black box, with many having onboard cellular that is separate from your phone. If the feds wanted to track you. they can/will. unless you completely go old school, cash, off the grid, really old cars...even then, you have tags on your car, cameras are everywhere...
