Is there anyone whose ever lost 40+ lbs through mindful eating? Most people I’ve seen who’ve lost a lot of weight have done so through careful calorie counting (which does take up a huge amount of mental space, I’m doing it now 😕)
I feel like I was able to do it, but I had a few things working in my favor - I have pretty decent metabolism and there was so much obviously wrong with my diet that just replacing unhealthy foods with healthier ones was a simple change (plus adding moderate exercise after being pretty sedentary. It took me about a decade to get from 125 to 155 and about 7 months to get from 155 to 115. I still get hungry all the time and eat all the time like I used to. I just don't eat a lot of sugary, processed junk and don't have it in the house very often. I had an ED as college student and calorie counting is not for me. If I had to be hungry all the time and track everything to stay relatively slim, I would not bother.
