I’m the same. It’s so disheartening. It feels like a constant fight all day to not eat sugar or processed foods. I can last about 4 days. Then I cave and eat a ton. Then back on the wagon. I’ve come to the conclusion that this is just me.

Not 40, but I'm so small basically the equivalent. I got of my meds/supplements and ate as I used to. No calorie counting.

I’m a Dr Mark Hyman devotee - he’s helped me a lot

He’s not a fan of oatmeal - too glycemic. I switched to teff instead

I order Brami Lupini hummus - lower carb

He’s not a fan of lunch meats.

You can look these topics up on his website

Good luck

I feel like I was able to do it, but I had a few things working in my favor - I have pretty decent metabolism and there was so much obviously wrong with my diet that just replacing unhealthy foods with healthier ones was a simple change (plus adding moderate exercise after being pretty sedentary. It took me about a decade to get from 125 to 155 and about 7 months to get from 155 to 115. I still get hungry all the time and eat all the time like I used to. I just don't eat a lot of sugary, processed junk and don't have it in the house very often.

I had an ED as college student and calorie counting is not for me. If I had to be hungry all the time and track everything to stay relatively slim, I would not bother.

I drink a cup of green tea in the morning. I cut out diet soda because it made me hungry. Now I drink a ton of fizzy water, like a ton. But I think it actually makes me hungry.

There is a lot of speculation and some evidence that fizzy water increases hunger. I suspect it simply doesn’t blunt it, which still water does. Try switching and see if it helps.

I hear ya, OP! IF helped in terms of adding structure to my day, but it was so hard to stop eating at night! I would go to bed early too and think about food till I gell asleep. I found that a heavier evening meal helps and mapping out my food for the day did too.
After a week, I decided to increase my calories by 200 because I was still feeling ravenous and found that helped alot.
You said you eat about 1500 calories a day but the food you listed seems to be less than that unless the portions are huge.
Popcorn helped me too with a heavy sprinkle of balsamic vinegar and parmesan cheese. Its a good mindless eating snack.

I chew a piece of gum and drink a sparkling water. It helps.

The worst thing for a food lover is to deny themselves food because... our minds look forward and plan what to eat and then what was IF for again? To reduce calories, but you will overeat every single time.

Gross and it doesn't look like OP needs additional salt given what she/he is eating.
