Why would her walk to get the communion if she knew according to the church she's living in sin? Come on, folks. I'm all for gay rights but we must know our place.
If sinners couldn't take communion the mass sure wouldn't last very long. Bible is very clear that we're all sinners, and that the duty of the church is to minister to sinners. I don't happen to believe that being lesbian or in an lesbian relationship is a sin, but even if you do believe that, it shouldn't impact communion.
PP you quoted here. I'm no Catholic and I'm not sure about the church's take on this. I'm protestant and in my church, if you know you're in sin and you're taking the communion you're supposed to make amendments with God and with the person who's offended by your sin before taking it. This lady has clearly no desire to leave her sin, totally different from the case you're stating where we're all sinners and struggling to accept God's forgiveness and leave our sin behind.
