Insurance costs, camp costs, pet expenses, and yes, vacation. We budget $15k, which goes into the vacation account as of January 1, and draw down on it as the year passes. (Next year's budgeted amount is saved in a separate account, and transferred in on January 1.) We may exceed that budget by a few thousand $$ (and in 2020 didn't spend it all, for obvious reasons), but that's a good estimate. The real question is, why *don't* you have a budget for a discretionary expense like this? If you really have no idea what you spend each year on travel, that seems like a problem, particularly at a lower HHI. [/quote]
