Dear Evan Hansen is an excellent choice but you should know the plot revolves around the suicide of a teenager. But lots to discuss with your child after, and the music (Pasek & Paul) tends to be popular with Gen Z.

Come From Away is a great show, but the music itself leaves a lot to be desired. Lots of exposition in those songs, and there are only a couple melodies that stay with you. That staging and story, however, are terrific.

Hadestown was the hot ticket right before Broadway shut down. It is very good, though not my favorite. I found it very ...busy. A lot going on at every minute, and the director wanted to explore every theme. That said, I absolutely love the music from it. So it's the opposite problem for me of Come From Away: great music, "eh" show.

This is a super helpful/accurate assessment.  I loved Dear Evan Hansen with original cast but it is SOOOO sad.  I would go for Hadestown and Six. [/quote]
