In Montgomery County, 22% of all registered voters (over 1 in 5) is unaffiliated. 39% of registered voters (about 2 in 5) are not registered Democrat. Despite this, 100% of our elected officials over the past 18+ years have been those selected in the Democratic Primary. If you want to make your vote count, you must register as a Democrat before June 5! That is very interesting. I know that not all of those 61% not registered Dems are centrist, but IMO, we can make a dent and move the county at least a little to the center. I actually don't want a far right county. That's not my goal at all. I just want some moderate politicians in the county. For those who are more to the right, having someone moderate is better than having someone who is far left. I stated the same during the POTUS elections to progressives to back Biden because having a more moderate Dem is better than having someone far right. If you are not going to move out of the county, and you are tired of the super left, then you need to make some concessions. Register as a D and vote in a moderate.
Thanks for starting discussion! I posted separately and it was combined here for obvious reasons… if you want to help move the needle more send me an email at lefttovote@gmail.com … I’m working on filing the paperwork for a 501c4 political non profit
