It baffles me how the service can continue to be so surly. I mean, I know service work sucks. But that a successful shop should continue to hire such unpleasant people over a period of years...I mean, either the workplace is toxic and that's why they're all so unpleasant, or they genuinely like each other and don't care how they come across to customers.[/quote]

It's notable enough I have to assume it is a top-down issue. Well beyond "service work sucks" and I say that as someone who did service work and generally prefers a hands-off browsing experience and doesn't require a** kissing or pleasantries and just wants a touch of efficiency. [/quote]
