You may [i]suspect[/i] your parent has NPD, but you're not equipped to provide a definitive diagnosis.[/quote] This, but also just the complete misuse of what the word even means, regardless of formal diagnosis. Examples: "My DH said that he does not want to go to the Outer Banks this year." "He is gaslighting you!" "My MIL told me that she really does not like the way I prepare my bacon and would prefer something else." "She is so passive-aggressive!" "My SIL told me that she thinks our kids should get together next weekend and I can't because I am a working mom." "Your SIL is a narcissist!"[/quote]
