The OP's supposed contrast, that the Democrats aren't pushing for a federal law protecting abortion but are pushing for a four day work week, for instance, doesn't really hold up. There's a bill, with a few cosponsors, that would require overtime after 32 hours. It's got basically no chance of passing, even in the House, though. There's also a bill in the House that would protect the right to an abortion federally that passed back in September. It's got basically no chance of getting out of the Senate, but the House Democrats definitely made it priority. It's hard to see that though, because it didn't seem to get nearly as much media coverage as the 4 day work week.[/quote]
