Yea, I know who he is competing against. My point is that they will support Abbott over Beto because Abbott isn't your rich white dude, but they seem to have no problems supporting Trump who is a rich white dude.  you don't see the double standard there?  The only thing that intersects Abbott and Trump is that both are willing to cater to aholes.[/quote]

No Democrat will get the red red Republicans. Forget that.  The candidate needs to appeal to moderates.  And the candidate needs to be serious.  I am one who has severe buyers remorse about Biden.  I am not saying I would have voted for Trump.  But I feel like I got something much different than I expected. And my other moderate friends agree.  So I think there is an element of caution among moderates and we need to be won.  If Beto were on the ticket today against Abbot, and I lived in Texas, which I don’t, I would have to hold my nose for either but I would pick Abbott.  Beto doesn’t have the stuff. [/quote]
