Its not about the chocolates, its the opening of mail addressed to OP. Who opens someone else's mail at their house. Its a huge over step in boundaries. I would make sure you lock up anything you don't want her seeing as she obviously is a massive snoop. I would not be comfortable leaving her alone either. If these were chocolates already open I would agree, who cares but mail could be anything and could be private or personal, not just chocolates.
