Call a different ENT and say it is urgent.
+1 They'll fit you in. Go tomorrow.
+10000000000 I waited until I could get an appointment, which was 6 weeks. I am now deaf in one ear. The doctor said “you should have come in sooner” and I nearly killed him as that was the earliest one I could get. Tell me again why the Canadian system is worse?
+100. There is a small window of time that steroids will help. I lost partial hearing in one ear because I waited too long to see a doctor thinking that I just got water in my ear from swimming.
OP again, honestly it was the kick in the pants from you all that made me call back Wednesday. When I got to the doctor, in the middle of conversation (not complaining just conversation) I mentioned that I originally had an appointment for next week and I was grateful they got me in. He said, "WHAT? Here?" And I said, "no, one of your other offices" and he said, "No, I mean this practice? But OK, I'm going to address that with scheduling, You should have been seen yesterday with sudden hearing loss, no question." He apologized profusely and it was a good reaction from a doctor.
