You continually work up to higher weight but you do that through greater repetition. So while I can deadlift like 175 or so on a one to three rep max test, during a workout I will lift say 140 during a workout for maybe a total of 50-60 times during a 20 minute period. I keep working on increasing the numbers and then eventually can add 5 pounds to my bar but will end up dropping reps until I can work back up to the 50-60. [/quote]
