What is less well known, DC-CAP does critically important advocacy on the Hill to keep DC-TAG alive. It has been on life support a few times, and brought back to life at the last minute thanks in part to the tireless, unpaid, volunteer efforts of people associated with DC-CAP.

DC-TAG could get cut at any time. Don’t take it for granted.

If you care about equity, give even more to DC-CAP. All the debate above adequacy of the grant vs tuition, DC-TAG was originally meant to cover Tuition, Room & Board, and now doesn’t typically cover tuition for the schools where our DCPS kids are actually attending. Since all these schools are out of state, kids aren’t able to live at home. This is tragically inequitable to kids who just happen by accident of birth to live in the only place that lacks a decent state university.[/quote]
