They did that because a kid died on his bike.  The sidewalk is SO narrow and abuts the road.  It's incredibly dangerous, but that is the entirety of OGR.[/quote]

Yes. Jake Cassell was 17 and riding his bike to the Y on the sidewalk. He hit something on the horrible, narrow sidewalk and fell into the road.

The bike lanes on Old Georgetown Road would be better if they went all the way from 355 to downtown Bethesda, and also if they were protected by more than just paint on the pavement, but it's a start.[/quote]
