Arlington, Loudoun, VSA, PWSI and Richmond's top teams until U-13 ECNL starts. For older age groups (U-13 and above) it will be 2nd teams as top teams will be in regular ECNL on their own or combined (i.e., VDA or Richmond United)
In Clubs like Arlington, there is little difference between ECNL and ECNL-R teams. They both play State Cup and the ECNL-R team actually went farther. Many of the kids practice together certain days of the week. This is why at some big Clubs the B team can compete in leagues with A teams of other Clubs.
This really isn't the case. There were no regular ECNL girls teams in the State Cup competition (or in Arlington's case this year....their GA team). And, there is a pretty big difference between the top ECNL teams and ECNL-R (or previously CCL) teams. But, you are right in that the 2nd teams for some of those larger clubs (that are in ECNL or GA) are still competitive with the top teams from other clubs that are not in ECNL or GA.
BOYS. Not every post is about girls' soccer.
