No, but I don't skill level is the only concern when it comes to admission to these leagues. The league may figure the ECNL brand would help them attract better players, and they're probably not wrong.
That said, I've heard nothing to suggest GFR wants to make this move. Just saying that would be the least surprising club to go full ECNL. (In part because many of the others feed into existing ECNL teams.)
Vienna won 6 age groups on the girls side last year. Beach should be good competition, but no way any other team is better across the board.
This is a great league at U11 and U12. All these NOVA teams should be happy for the good competition while staying close to home.

Oscar is a great coach and if you spent anytime talking to him, he knows about player development and how much boys' change from age 13-18. Rosters are not static. They may be when they age out of Oscar's teams---he generally does the U13-U14 years, since not all of the Coaches are on the same level of knowledge of the game/style that he teaches. Some still do prefer the size and long balls.
This is why he will continue to develop players on both teams, invite players to practice with his teams. Any smart Club or Coach would do that in the pre-puberty/early puberty years since boys grow at such phenomenally different rates. I saw a boy that was 5'1" U15 return 6'0" at U16. A lot of boys don't even start their significant growth spurts until U16 (age 15).

This really isn't the case. There were no regular ECNL girls teams in the State Cup competition (or in Arlington's case this year....their GA team). And, there is a pretty big difference between the top ECNL teams and ECNL-R (or previously CCL) teams. But, you are right in that the 2nd teams for some of those larger clubs (that are in ECNL or GA) are still competitive with the top teams from other clubs that are not in ECNL or GA.
BOYS. Not every post is about girls' soccer.

They will have better competition then they would in other leagues. It's good Clubs can find a place for challenge because a lot of time 2nd teams suffer with less competition in league.

VSA, PWSI, and the Richmond teams should be labeled as A- or B+ teams U-13 and up. Not really fair to say B teams, but also not fair to say A teams. Somewhere between A and B teams.
