In the current situation, it may have been a spur of the moment thing[/quote] If the party clearly was planned and had a guest list, and then I got invited later (day before a birthday party, two weeks before a wedding), I generally just politely decline. I have never felt comfortable at an event when I got invited last minute, and so I just stopped going. I am normal and social and have lots of friends, BTW. [/quote]
