Some people have six kids of their own.  I don’t happen to, some of these kids are my nieces and nephews who I watch in the summer, but it’s not unheard of.  Do you think they take two cars whenever they go anyplace?

I'm not the PP you are responding to, but at my church there are a lot of big families with 6+ kids (I know several with 11+.)  They all have 15 passenger vans.   They are really tall and won't fit in a standard garage.  If you'll only be transporting this many people occasionally over the summer, it's probably not practical to buy a 15 passenger van.
Personally, I wouldn't plan to purchase something so major based on doing a favor for someone else (since you say you watch your nieces and nephews over the summer.)
I get that they are family, but that's a really big ask of your siblings when it involves such a huge investment.   
Personally, I'd just keep whatever car you have now (or if you are in need of a new car anyway, buy what works best for you) and ask your siblings to contribute towards the daily rental of a 15 passenger van on the days you want to go out for outings in the summer.  [/quote]
