According to frisch they want them to take advantage of public resources https://wtop.com/fairfax-county/2021/05/fairfax-co-schools-draft-policy-to-not-voluntarily-cooperate-with-ice/amp/
Immigration is solely federal domain. And there is federal case law that states public schools must educate all children, regardless of immigration status. So this makes sense. They are staying in their federalist lane.
Is the school board blaming ICE for low parental participation in PTA etc? The children are enrolled in school and n the USA public education is available to all children and has been for decades. I think this is just grandstanding or blame shifting for some achievement indexes like math now is racist... Where the fed gov should be paying more is in categories where students are new to this country and have had limited or interrupted formal education. That also impacts attendance, testing, graduation statistics and maybe there's a new category. Also per pupil costs- UAM released by ORR can be additions to households. Perhaps each state or better yet counties when a single county gets >50 annually. Public statistics that are released. So I have no idea why Anderson and Frtisch are pontificating.
