I’m fine teaching my kids and filling in the gaps.  We have been doing that for years.

But how do you think that will affect the Achievement/Opportunity Gap?

If the material is not being taught IN school, what happens to the kids whose parents choose not to fill in the missing lessons?  They just get left further behind.  Which is not good for MCPS optics.  [/quote]

I’ve taught every grade in k-5. The omitted material is all material we end up reviewing the next year anyway. This was done strategically. No one is going to be left behind. As for the MS and HS level, I have no idea. The elementary kids will be okay. This isn’t the crisis some people are making it out to be.[/quote]
