I tried Noom but stopped using it. It categorizes food as green, yellow, and red. Every day you scroll through some slides, some about motivation, nutrition, psychology, etc and there are little quizzes to check how much you remember. There is also a coach who asks you about your goals and how your week or day went. You get reminders to log your food if you forget. I disagree that it isn't a diet. It gives to a calorie limited and puts food into categories. I didn't find the "psychology" portion of it transformative and I found the coach more annoying than helpful or authentic. Glad it works for some people though.
This reminds me of a program through my health insurance 10 years ago. I really got into it and enjoyed the articles. The coach wasn't very helpful, and I never logged calories. I did lose weight. For me, it was interesting to read about healthy eating and how certain foods affect your body, etc. You have to do a low calorie diet on noom right?
Yes, it is a low-calorie program. The red/yellow/green concept is based on the idea behind Volumetrics, which is basically saying that a dried raisin (red) is less filling than a grape (green) because grapes take up more room in your stomach.
