+1 I see someone is already mocking you but please know that there are other reasonable parents like us who completely support a calm and rational approach to the reopening of schools. We'd much rather be safe than sorry.

No one is mocking anyone. However, it is not going to be possible to go back at all, under hybrid or other, if spacing constraints beyond those recommended by the CDC are imposed. It is completely fine if people are not comfortable with that for their own kids, and they do not have to send them - virtual remains an option. However, it is unreasonable to advocate for imposing requirements beyond those recommended by the CDC on other people's kids. Frankly, it does not affect you, because your kids would remain in virtual if the additional requirements are imposed, just as you would have the right to elect for them to do if the additional requirements were not imposed.

Actually it DOES affect me if your actions cause a teacher to become ill, or a family member to become ill, or for any of them to die. Allowing the kind of negligent and careless behavior that you are suggesting by opening schools for face-to-face learning negatively affects the entire community.[quote]

Actually, ACPS teachers will likely be vaccinated by the time that students go back, but they don't have to go back to teach, even if they are vaccinated.  ACPS will allow them to continue to teach from home, and will hire classroom monitors.  For someone who is feigning such concern, you don't seem very tied into what the district's actual plan for hybrid learning would be.

Finally, presumably, the CDC and state health department know better than you what is required in terms of distancing, so I will go with their recommendation over your hysteria.[/quote]
