I’m all for it! 6 feet was the minimum, and research since the recommendation to keep at least 6 feet apart has shown that the virus lingers in the air at distances greater than 6 feet.
+1 I see someone is already mocking you but please know that there are other reasonable parents like us who completely support a calm and rational approach to the reopening of schools. We'd much rather be safe than sorry.
+1 Absolutely!!!
No one is mocking anyone. However, it is not going to be possible to go back at all, under hybrid or other, if spacing constraints beyond those recommended by the CDC are imposed. It is completely fine if people are not comfortable with that for their own kids, and they do not have to send them - virtual remains an option. However, it is unreasonable to advocate for imposing requirements beyond those recommended by the CDC on other people's kids. Frankly, it does not affect you, because your kids would remain in virtual if the additional requirements are imposed, just as you would have the right to elect for them to do if the additional requirements were not imposed.
Actually it DOES affect me if your actions cause a teacher to become ill, or a family member to become ill, or for any of them to die. Allowing the kind of negligent and careless behavior that you are suggesting by opening schools for face-to-face learning negatively affects the entire community.
+1,000. Idiots with their "you do you and I'll do me" BS during a pandemic. No.

News flash: read the CDC recommendation before making silly statements! It’s at least six feet.

Correctly interpreting policy guidelines sometimes requires reading more than one sentence:
"Social Distancing to the extent possible: Maintain a distance of at least 6 feet between people."
Also, VDH guidance which further expands the concept and even suggests 3 feet is fine if masks are being used (which they will be):
"VDH recommends that all schools, regardless of the level of transmission risk in a school, should:
● Implement strategies for all individuals within a school to maintain six feet of physical distance from each other, to the greatest extent possible.
o The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends “keeping desks at least 3 feet apart, and ideally 6 feet apart.” Maintaining less than six feet of distance should only be considered if all students are wearing masks correctly and do not have symptoms of illness."

Actually, ACPS teachers will likely be vaccinated by the time that students go back, but they don't have to go back to teach, even if they are vaccinated. ACPS will allow them to continue to teach from home, and will hire classroom monitors. For someone who is feigning such concern, you don't seem very tied into what the district's actual plan for hybrid learning would be.
Finally, presumably, the CDC and state health department know better than you what is required in terms of distancing, so I will go with their recommendation over your hysteria.

Not one school board member or ACPS functionary will care. And if you complain too much for other parents' taste...the mean girls will come for you. Let it go. The kids aren't going back this calendar year.
A FOIA takes 7 minutes. Filling in the cracks in my child's education takes at least 9 months so far, thanks to the spineless turds at ACPS.
