Eat Keto and you will lose weight.
Yeah, water weight. Fat loss is not guaranteed without tracking calories.
160 pounds to 130 pounds. Is that water weight? On Maintenance right now. People on Keto don’t count calories.
NP here. I agree that keto is a great way to lose real weight, but it’s most dramatically effective for people whose diets were carb heavy before (and I don’t mean bad carbs or whatever, I also mean people who eat steel cut oatmeal for breakfast and brown rice at lunch and rye bread with dinner). It dramatically reduces your appetite so although you’re eating high calorie meals, you end up eating fewer calories overall because you’re not driven to eat as much — or as often, which in turn keeps your blood sugar levels lower for longer, the same secret that makes intermittent fasting so effective for weight loss and mood. At this point, with all the studies in the NEJM etc showing that ketosis is a really good state to be in for cancer prevention and that sugar is bad for you and low carb diets are actually really healthy for you, I roll my eyes at naysayers in the same way I roll my eyes at anti vaxxers. Anyway, been holding steady at a healthy BMI since i first tried keto in 2007!
Very good points.
