How has she cracked down on people protesting violence against Blacks? She seems to be quite supportive of BLM and related causes? As for the Proud Boys, there is only so much she can do. They have a right to protest. When people move from protest to violence (or other illegal activity), steps can be taken against them. But they have a right to demonstrate/protest as much as anyone else.
MPD surrounded and arrested (or tried to arrest) a bunch of people protesting in support of Black lives a couple of months ago. Their violation? Violating curfew. I'd argue, they were out for a good cause. Met with pepper spray, rubber bullets, arrests. Her support for BLM has been superficial. Painting a slogan. But then when fascists looking to start fights come to DC starting trouble, she does nothing. They could have been arrested for carrying weapons, refusal to wear masks, or starting fights. There should have been mass arrests as soon as they took one step out of line. Instead, MPD is accommodating them.
evidence for this?
Look at how many BLM protestors were pepper sprayed, tear gassed, kettles and arrested. There are plenty of articles and videos of that. Did you see the same happen to the proud boys? There are videos of them hitting people and MPD not doing anything about it. They defaced church property, and MPD did nothing about it. Have you looked at what happened this past weekend?
The BLM protests were much bigger and engaged in organized and planned civil disobedience (like jumping over fences) and also propety destruction. Proud Boys were smaller and did not apparently plan high-profile civil disobedience. So I am not surprised if the number of arrests are smaller. It seems possible that there is a difference in enforcement but I wouldn’t make conclusions based on out-of-context videos you found on Twitter.
