I am a very frequent Arlington and Fairfax county playground goer. I am home with an insanely active 5 and 2 year old. It’s my lifeline. Anyhow, Things are changing compared to this summer as far as frequency of masks. I am more cautious now that cases have risen higher than spring. I think most “sane” people feel this way. My summer logic was case counts were low, humidity and sunshine made transmission less likely, and my kids aren’t big talkers, more like run and jump like crazy people. I now wear my mask outside which I’ve been doing basically this week. I feel it’s overkill but whatever. I make my kids wear masks when we go to “big” playgrounds outside our neighborhood or when a close friend is at the park as well and I know they will talk more. They don’t wear masks at our “daily” playground which we go to mostly in the morning and mostly see no one. Anyhow, Fairlington this Sunday almost everyone had masks. Go to smaller playgrounds at off hours, (in the morning basically) and there are very few people.
