Why? We are in a professional work environment. I am a teacher and have never once called a parent by their first name. I'm not friends with my students' parents. Boundaries people. I also don't accept Facebook friend requests from them. Are you suggesting I do that? Since we're all so friendly with each other?[/quote]

I do the same. Teachers respond and always sign off using their first name. From there, we're on a first name basis. Communication is maybe a couple of times a year. My senior sends a lot of emails due to meetings etc. He always adresses formally. [/quote]
