Yikes.  This was really not evident in your initial post--my previous comments were based on not seeing how he could be a danger to your children.  It sounds like you definitely have cause for concern, and I wouldn't want my kids around someone in those circumstances.  I really hope things get better for your BIL and the rest of your family.[/quote]
