I feel like this when it comes to romantic relationships. My parents weren't good role models for marriage. I read a lot of romance novels. I had no idea how to actually do the work of a real relationship. I'm still learning but hearing others' stories and realizing my challenges are typical (and not necessarily a sign of the wrong partner or a need for divorce) has been helpful. I also appreciate reading research-based self-help types of books. [/quote]

I struggle with this also. Can you share more about what has helped you in this regard? Beliefs you shed or adopted? Specific books that helped? Having to learn how to be married once you are already married can feel overwhelming at times.[/quote]
