For those that cant figure out how futsal is played outdoors let me help. Alexandria Soccer worked with Alexandria city to repurpose some of those old unused tennis courts. Cleaned them up, lined them out, installed fixed futsal goals there you have it. Outdoor futsal courts.
That is awesome. But why not just play soccer on fields then? Seems like any moisture at all and the courts would become more dangerous than any field.
More profitable to play futsal.
Yup. Much cheaper to rent outdoor basketball courts during the winter months particularity at public parks/schools. Heck, they can even use/rent out tennis courts as long as they use tennis/sneaker type shoes. Colleges, ie U. of Maryland, have abundant tennis courts.
I actually know some clubs will get permits for fields and courts for the entire year. They than resell those facilities to other groups trying to get court/ field time. Pretty good gig, the club pays the reduced rate to the county or city, and turns around and makes a premium by selling to other groups who can’t get court/field time because the clubs have monopolized the permits.
