This was some years ago.  I sure hope a lot more is known about helping kids like these.   Little was known with the first child I ran across.  I moved and i understand that the next year, he was placed in a special school that was doing a study to help kids like him.  The other child where I taught later also received a lot of additional help--but, again, this was years ago.  Again, I moved away but I understand that he was still struggling four years later.

Testing for dyslexia and learning disabilities has improved since those days, but there are still some foggy areas   Identifying and remediating are two different things.  I sure hope this program is that good because it is very sad for some of those kids.[/quote]
