Then add that if you're working, it means your 1-year-old is probably in daycare with other kids and more likely to get COVID there.

It seems like a bad idea to be working right now from you. That doesn't mean you're a SAHM forever -- it just means that you are not working due to your health and family needs. You don't have to commit to staying home for a few years for sure. You can take it slowly and see what makes sense after your second kid is born. Maybe there's another part-time job you could do from home or in a less-risky field that would be possible to do a few hours a week as well, keeping you doing something and earning some money but not pursuing your previous field.

I also think it will make sense on your resume to be able to say you needed to take some time off due to family risk and pregnancy during COVID. People understand this is an unusual time.

But again, this is what I would do. You also need to be comfortable and choose something you will be able to live with. If you're miserable, that's also not good for you and your family, even if what you're doing is the "logical choice."[/quote]
