Whoa. Just saw this because I am an employee. There will be a NNAT in December. I wonder how this will change the screening pool.
Still no official words yet.
It is on the FCPS Intranet on the Actiongram for today. It's official. They are still doing a pool. There are detailed FAQs about how it will work and what they are still working out. The bottom line is that they would have to have CogAT taken in the Fall to have scores in time for the spring pool. The state requires an abilities test, so NNAT will be used. If the student has a 1st grade score, that will be used. If they do not have a 1st grade score, they will figure out how to give the NNAT in December. Screening portfolios will be digital.
what is the Actiongram? I’ve done a search and can not find anything. Is this something only teachers get? Why aren’t the FAQs public and how much do they actually have to work out? I wonder how many times FCpS will change this “plan” between now and January!!!!
I’m not waiting for FCPS to figure it out. I am scheduling a CogAt at GMU ASAP.
