Why is everyone flaming the PP bc she pays her nanny $17/hr? I'm sure her nanny is happy to have a job so stop with the attacks on her. It doesn't make you better just bc you're paying more. Whatever arrangements they have is their decision. DCUM has a tendency to inflate rates. We pay $20/hr cash for our nanny, we have 3 kids but she is in charge of 2 most of the time.

That's on the high end. Our nanny is $17 per hour (2 kids)
Genuine question; do you expect her to stay for the long term when there are so many better options right now? I made more than that 10 years ago in normal times. I can't imagine any decent nanny accepting that these days when there is so much demand and you're dealing with the extra stress of parents wfh over your shoulder all day and not being able to go anywhere or do anything. I think you should reevaluate whether what you're offering is competitive, if not for her, for yourself if you don’t want to be scrambling for childcare when she quits.
