My son is back in day care, and I'm worried about what will happen once the regular flu season hits. The symptoms of Covid-19 are basically the same as the symptoms for the flu and an ordinary cold.
My son's class is closed now for a child exhibiting "a symptom that excludes attendance." That list is about the same as it was pre-COVID, with the addition of lost of taste and/or smell. So yes, they will close at least that classroom anytime someone has symptoms of a GI virus, cold, or flu, and since it takes so long to get test results, just assume it will be a two-week closure. I understand why, but that doesn't make it any less frustrating. Frustration at the testing situation, not at the center.
