I used to think they would just delay it to the Spring, but, I think a lot of schools in this area are going to be completely online for the entire 2020-2021 school year (looking at you DCPS, MCPS and FCPS). Maybe PSAT (and national merit competition) will just be cancelled for this year's Juniors).
The school buildings should be open when school starts, at least in FCPS. They can have DL and still allow juniors to come in and test. Since they use different forms, and am and a pm cohort allows for social distancing. A class of 500 can hav2 e 2 groups of 250, or 10 kids each in 25 classrooms. The test itself is less than three hours start to finish. Wear masks and allow a 15 minute outside mask break halfway through. It’s a lot easier to do safely than any of the hybrid plans, because many fewer kids and much less time indoors.
MCPS has cancelled its august 29 SAT. Is FCPS or DCPS hosting August? I would not anticipate having any of the local publics as an option for in-school testing this year.
