People are going with their experience of block vs regular periods. Most high schools in MCPS are on a 7 period schedule, which is unfortunate. Some schools and I believe most magnets have blocks. I very much prefer block scheduling!

My child is on a block schedule at his MS. It works well for my kid regarding assignment management and his teachers are able to cover a lot in one period or do in-depth science and math projects. I haven't noticed any issues with only having teaching contact 2-3 days per week. These kids are advanced but even in the regular classes, kids seem to adjust to the schedule.[/quote]

Don't know but my child's Algebra teacher used Zoom effectively in the spring and kept the kids engaged by teaching new content. Bottom line, it depends on the teacher. I hope my son's school keeps the block schedule but I am not against other schools going back to their normal schedule for DL.[/quote]
