If you haven’t figured this out yet, the teachers are trying to do as little work as possible. They don’t give two f::ks about education or what is best for students. Just want to the most convenient for them. Me. Me. Me. Me. Me.

This is the first time my family is experiencing DL in a worldwide pandemic.
People are going with their experience of block vs regular periods. Most high schools in MCPS are on a 7 period schedule, which is unfortunate. Some schools and I believe most magnets have blocks. I very much prefer block scheduling!
My child is on a block schedule at his MS. It works well for my kid regarding assignment management and his teachers are able to cover a lot in one period or do in-depth science and math projects. I haven't noticed any issues with only having teaching contact 2-3 days per week. These kids are advanced but even in the regular classes, kids seem to adjust to the schedule.
Do you think this projects will be done during Zoom?

A thousand years ago, I had 7 blocks in middle school and 4 in high school. The 4 block was much easier to manage and seemed like a better system from my student perspective.
