We saw my parents a few weeks ago. They drove from PA and visited inside our home and everything. How long are we going to let this go on?
I’m unclear what you mean by “let this go on?” The people who are socializing in person are the ones who are prolonging it...
I'm a different PP (the one with a 4yo and a newborn), but I assume the PP means completely isolating the older generation. I don't know about you, but we have several older people in our family who are NOT handling the isolation well. My mom is struggling with depression and anxiety. DH's grandmother is in a memory care unit and no longer remembers her family at all, since she hasn't seen them in months, and shes now terrified of everyone around her Another elderly relative feels that, if this is how her life is to be, she has nothing to actually live for anymore. I'm not advocating to open up all the things. I have risk factors myself and am being as cautious as I reasonably can be, but the mental health impacts of all this isolation seems to be overlooked by some. And, no, FaceTime doesnt just cure this problem.
