I never think parties are tacky. I don’t know who is paying for the shower/sprinkle but the cost of shower often costs more than the gift you are bringing.

I did not have a baby shower/sprinkle for my second child. My boys were 2 years apart and born in the same month. All my friends brought me a gift when they came to visit my second. I got a lot of gift cards.

We moved to the DC area and I had a third child 5 years later. We thought we were done after 2 and gave all our baby gear away. My new friends threw me a sprinkle. DH paid for it. All the people who attended were new friends and they brought me cute baby clothes for the girl since I had 2 boys and gave everything away anyways. Multiple friends gave me baby gear they were done with.

I do not think you should have a full shower for seconds. Baby sprinkles are totally fine. I love them. We always have one whenever one of our friends has a baby.[/quote]
