Va is a big state with a lot of different areas. I think it makes sense to treat localities differently based on current conditions. I think the local parks need to reopen though. People need somewhere to go as the weather gets nicer and the risk outside is low.
This is what I don’t get. I’m in Fairfax County and the parks are closed, parking lots to the parks are closed, but officially the trails are “open” as long as you can get to them not by driving (so by walking or biking is fine). The Parks Dept said they made this decision because the governor has a “stay at home order” until June 10th. But I get emails from my member of the BoS, as well as emails from the member in the district where I used to live, and both members say they are disappointed with the parks for closing the parking lots and are working with the parks to reopen the parking lots so people can drive to the trails? So what is the truth? Because it’s looking like the parks department closed all the park parking lots for their own convenience sake.
